Day Care Workers, children, parents and Local Government Unit (LGU) of Jagna officials converged at the Jagna gymnasium to observe the National Children's Month on October 22.
The event which bears the theme “Bright Child: Sa Tamang Pag-aaruga, Kinabukasan ay Maginhawa” started with a Holy Mass at the St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church followed by the coronation of the Jagna Day Care King and Queen.
During the program, Mayor Exuperio C. Lloren commended the noble efforts of Jagna’s thirty three Day Care Workers as he urged the parents of the Day Care Children to grasp fully the theme of the celebration.
“In my opinion, if a child is well taken cared of by both parents even during conception and much more after birth, the child will grow bright. In many cases, a child becomes what he or she is because of the parents”, Mayor Lloren opined.  
Day care children of Poblacion and Naatang Day Care Centers Jasius Dwight Virtudes and Elcitte May Bolaer respectively were declared Day Care King and Queen 2008 through a popularity contest.
Mayor Lloren and Jagna DILG Officer Ms. Ma. Reina Quilas crowned King Jasius Dwight while Vice Mayor Teofisto Pagar, Sr. assisted by DSWD Officer-in-charge Ms. Marcionila Reyes crowned Queen Elcitte May.
As the children were very young to understand speeches, they just rendered some dance numbers to the delight of the crowd mostly children themselves.
A grand parade in the afternoon capped the day’s activities.

LGU-JAGNA STANDS UP AGAINST POVERTY: In answer to a worldwide United Nation’s anti-poverty campaign promoting the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Mayor Exuperio C. Lloren (inset) leads the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Jagna officials and employees in their pledge to stand up against poverty on Monday after the weekly flag-raising ceremony at the municipal grounds.
 

Jagna’s Ubi Powder was awarded Best FITS Product in the search for outstanding performance by the different Farmers’ Information and Technology Services (FITS) centers at the Bohol Cultural Center in Tagbilaran City very recently.
