Agriculture Secretary Arthur Yap in his visit to Jagna on August 23 explained to Mayor Exuperio Lloren and to the 33 strong-members of the LIGA ng mga Barangay with their respective Council that the successful and immediate implementation of high-impact projects is to sustain the growth of agriculture despite global economic slowdown. In photo, Sec. Yap (encircled) distributes P200, 000.00 check as funding for Jagna’s Farm to Market Roads (FMRs) to the barangay council of Bunga Mar headed by Brgy. Capt. A total of P6.6 million pesos were distributed to Jagna’s 33 barangay councils on that day alone, the 1st batch of which was in barangay Pagina while the 2nd batch was in Bunga Mar. The project intends to remove limitations to the improvement of agricultural productivity caused by the inadequacy of rural infrastructure such as FMR and to reduce rural poverty by increasing agricultural productivity and profitability.
