To stump out nefarious practices of public officials that menaced society and worsens the situation of the government bureaucracy system Republic Act (RA) 9485 or the Anti Red Tape Act of 2007 seminar workshop of all barangay officials on June 17 meant a lot. Held in staggered schedules the officials of the 33 barangays here are to converge at the Capt. Goyo Casenas hall alike in the whole duration. Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Reina A. Quilas and Liga President Andrew G. Tadena worked hardly for the success of this moral formation activity.
The Local Government Unit (LGU) led temporarily by Vice-Mayor Teofisto C. Pagar Sr. in the absence of Mayor Exuperio Lloren who is in Canada on official business extended its full support to this barangay government strengthening lecture, discussion workshop orientation. The 1st group of participants that go through the 5-wave enhancement sessions are the officials of Looc, Poblacion, Tejero, Canjulao, Can-upao, Pagina and Pangdan the barangays within the metro area of the town that attended. The 2nd batch of participants who will attend on June 22 are from Alejawan, Naatang, Tubod Mar, Larapan, Nausok, Bunga Mar and Bunga Ilaya mostly coastal places in the western side here. On June 23 will be the 3rd group composed of barangay officials of Cantagay, Ipil, Can-uba, Faraon, Kinagbaan, Cabungaan while on June 30 will be the 4th batch from Laca, Balili, Buyog, Tubod Monte, Cantuyoc and Malbog. The last batch to attend on July 1 are the uppermost barangay of Calabacita, Mayana, Lonoy, Odiong, Boctol and Can-ipil. The highlight of this epitome of good governance workshop focused on RA 9485 which was signed into law by Pres. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on June 2, 2007 aimed at fortifying the government from the evils of fraudulence by unscrupulous people. Also in the tandem with RA 9485 is the formulation of the barangay Citizen’s Charter (C.C.) which was mandated by this nemesis of red tape habit law to be incorporated in the activity. Towards the final step of the session of the June 17 batch which was the presentation of the formulated C.C. of their respective barangay deep interest was drawn as a quandary surfaced due to non-conformity of some CC formulators to the approved barangay revenue code. The intelligent and effective MLGOO Ms. Quilas interposed with a satisfactory elucidation of the crucial matter. After the issues, concerns and other matters were satisfactorily dealt in the open forum the certificate of appearance were distributed the recipients. (Gregorio A.
