JAGNA-St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Lonoy celebrated its 12th parish fiesta and parochial anniversary on February 27, 2011 with the theme: “Nagkahiusang Katilingban Nag Maampoong Nagsunod sa Lakang ni San Jose”. Fr. Pablito Saludes is the current parish priest of St. Joseph the Worker Parish and heads the celebration of the fiesta. Historically, the barangays comprising St. Joseph the Worker Parish was part of St. Micahel the Archangel Parish of Jagna. Due to its distance from the main town, the Lonoyanons decided to become a separate parish. It came as a suggestion of Fr. Silvano Evangelista and they welcomed it. Lonoy then became a Quasi Parish of Jagna and priests have been assigned to stay. The Lonoyanons with the assigned priests have toiled for the realization of their objective. Finally, the canonical erection of the parish and the installation of the first parish priest Rev. Fr. Paulito V. Amplayo were done on February 27, 1999. The barangays decreed to comprise the new parish were Lonoy, Boctol, Cabungaan, Calabacita, Cambugason, Can-ipol, Mayana and Odong. On its 12th fiesta celebration, the parishioners celebrated it in unity through a mass officiated by no less than Bishop Christian Vicente F. Noel, D.D. assisted by visiting priests. Jagna Mayor Fortunato Abrenilla, Gov. Edgar Chatto, Mrs. Pureza Chatto and their daughter Esther Patrisha celebrated the fiesta with the parishioners. Bishop Christian Vicente F.
