The women religious group and devout of St. Joseph the Worker, Josephinians sponsored a mass wedding of twenty pairs at the St. Michael the Archangel Parish Church on September 20. The free matrimonial services served as one of the highlights in the annual fiesta celebration of Jagna parish on September 29. It likewise dished up as spiritual gift to persons living as husbands and wives without the blessings of matrimonial sacrament over the years and for those who are betrothed but short of financial means for wedding ceremonies. The Jagna Josephinians is one of the most active religious organizations of the parish. With a membership of close to a hundred, it is headed by Ms. Sofia Ranque. The ten couples that benefited from the mass wedding were Romel Llemit & Marites Acaso, Luciano Tadle & Presentacion Bunjan, Arvin Edulan & Rosell Balane, Alfeo Oclida & Basiliza Cahucom, Nicanor Quiroy & Rufina Ortiz. Cerlito Bagolantoy & Analie Daverao, Clateo Imam & Angeles Balo, Allan Galamiton & Cercia Libres, Renanti Dizon & Grace Ampo and Marben Gato & May Ann Macarine completed the list. Jagna parish priest Msgr. Orencio Jubac, E.V. together with Fr. Eusebio Soliano and Fr. Edward Karaan solemnly officiated the said mass wedding. (Gregorio A. Tavera) |
