JAGNA CALAMAY INDUSTRY SETS DIRECTION |

After Jagna’s original calamay industry received initial financial assistance from the Provincial Government of Bohol very recently, it is now positioned to a certain direction when a Strategic Planning Workshop was conducted on November 10 &11.
The said convergence activity attended by the officers and members of the Jagna Calamay Makers and Vendors Association (JACAMAVEA, national and provincial agencies and institutions took the participants through the various stages of a strategic planning process just to make the century-old industry become sustainable and viable micro-enterprise. STEP UP Consulting Services Managing Consultant Mr. Michael Cañares who processed the two-day activity ably facilitated the industry’s strategic priorities in the next five to ten years using the value chain approach. Mayor Exuperio Lloren personally commended the JACAMAVEA as well as the various partners of Jagna’s calamay industry for their undying commitment in several activities which have been conducted at different levels. Great Women Project (GWP) Manager Ms. Ma. Luzviminda Villanueva who personally came over from Manila to observe the direction setting likewise congratulated the participants. Committed partners who participated in included Department of Trade and Industry Provincial Director Ms. Ma. Elena Arbon, Bohol Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) President Ms. Marietta Gasatan, BCCI Project Assistant Yoradyl Israel, Local Area Coordinator of the National Commission on the Role of Filipino Women (NCRFW), Estrella Espinosa, DOLE's Mr. Gerry Guidaben, Ms. Celerina Galorio of Bohol APC and other equally important partners. Great Women Project Municipal Technical Working Group (WMP-MTWG) chaired by Jagna First Lady Ms. Nimfa Abaya-Lloren was the implementer of the said activity.  Primary stakeholders of Jagna’s century-old original calamay industry undergo a strategic planning workshop to set a clear direction towards sustainability and viability of the said micro-enterprise at the Domene Kaw on the 1st day and at the Capt.
