 LEARNING VISIT: Jagna’s Environmental Management System-Implementing Committee (EMS-IC) headed by Mayor Exuperio Lloren (center) conducted a two-day learning visit to International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 Institutions at Mactan Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) 1 in Lapu-lapu City on May 25-26, 2010.
The said activity facilitated in by Bohol Integrated Development Foundation (BIDEF) is in preparations for the LGUs ISO 14001 certification from TUV SUD Philippines. On the first day, the team visited Pentax Corporation, one of the world's best-known names in the camera industry and ISO 14001 and 9001 (QMS) certified company. The following day Jagna EMS-IC visited Makoto Corporation maker of aluminum (diecasting) body and other mechanical component parts of prismatic binoculars and magnetic eraser heads, manufacturer of filter rings & step rings for cameras and producer of microscope for industrial, semiconductor, bio and medical use. Makoto is ISO 14001, 9001, and 18001 (OHSAS) certified company. The team is composed of heads and staff of the offices of the Municipal Mayor, Engineer, Health Officer and Planning Officer with the EMS Auditors. (photo MPIO) |
