The Municipality of Jagna is located in the eastern part of the province of Bohol. It is approximately 63 kilometers away from Tagbilaran City - the capital city of the province. Travel time by bus from Tagbilaran City averages one-and-a-half-hour. The municipality is a coastal town highly accessible by land and sea transportation.
Jagna with its port facilities is a strategic point for sea transport as it straddles a major Visayas-Mindanao sea-lane. The Jagna-Mindanao sea route takes 5 hours either to Cagayan de Oro City or Nasipit.
Jagna shares it's political boundaries with the following municipalities; north is SierraBullones, west is Garcia-Hernandez, east is Duero. The Mindanao Sea bounds south of Jagna. Comprising of 33 barangays, its urban area comprising of barangays Poblacion, Looc, Tejero, Pagina, Canjulao, Bunga Mar, Can-upao and Pangdan covering a land area of 316.05 hectares or 2.62% of the total area.
